Still hanging in

Well it has been awhile since I have written anything. I have not been back to the gym as I am just so busy getting my rental house back into shape after the last tenants left. There was alot of repairs that were needed. Most of them needed done before they even moved in, but were never done. I am spending every morning working on the house, then going to work in the evenings. Makes for a very long week. I am down to 181 pounds and doing good at maintaining the weight. Not great at losing it, but it is coming off very very slowly, which is just finr with me. As long as I am not putting it back on. Till next time, i am off to bed now.

back to the gym

So Saturday I made it back to the gym after a 2 and a half month hiatus. It was a good workout and I was glad i finally made the effort to go back. Then come Sunday, my day off, and We go out and make a day of running errands and just shopping with no place to go in particular. Well, it comes to lunch time, and I get the idea to go to cici's pizza buffet because we are passing it and I am getting pretty hungry. Well, that was a bad idea for my diet. I ate way more than I needed to. But hey, its the weekend, so I am allowed to splurge a little. Then back to shopping we go. Well, then we pass my favorite ice cram place, time for dessert. Dern, another bad idea. But, I did get the small shake and not the large not the old me would have. baby steps. We ended up having a nice day, and avoided all the rain that we were supposed to get. Somehow, it had just rained everywhere we stopped, but never rained while we were there. How perfect is that?
So Monday morning I get back on the scale, UGH. What the heck, there is my weekend splurge, still hanging onto my waist. I am back to 186. Up from 182.6 on Friday. But I say some of that has to do with going to the gym and building muscles, lol. They do say that muscle is heavier than fat. Well, I am not discourged. Today, Tuesday, I went back to the gym before work and picked up the pace a lil more. I have got to get down to 180 by Sunday. Soup for lunch and a fiber bar and I am no longer hungry. If I can keep this up all week, I may still have a chance of getting to the 180 mark. Back to the gym Thursday. And will report back by the weekend, I hope.

hump day

So tonight we are going to the wine tasting at ABC in Cocoa Beach. These things are always so much fun. And I usually don't eat alot that night, just a wine dinner, LOL. This week I made it down to 182.8, my lowest weight ever so far. I contribute that to my being sick over the weekend and not eating alot. Monday I think I only had a tunafish salad sandwich for lunch and a bowl of chicken noodle soup for dinner. Last night was a nice night as I made a pitcher of Pina Colada's. Took our cups and went for a nice walk in the light drizzle of rain. It was a very relaxing walk and we both enjoyed it very much. So my goal for this week is to lose 2 more pounds and get to 180 by the end of next week. Till next week, signing off.

So, it has been over a month and a half since I started this blog, and the calorie counting. Well, I have not found the time to write in my blog, and all but gave up on the calorie counting after just one week. Never seemed to make the time to write down every item I ate. I know that that is the real key to losing the weight, but just haven't been able to keep focused on the goal. The good news, is I am still at a constant 185. I have even strayed and eating out fast food a few times and have induldged in way too much ice cream over the past month or two. But at least I am maintaining the weight, and not gaining it back. I think that if I can just focus for 2 monthes and lose the last 20 lbs. I should be able to keep it off by maintaining as I do now. The key is to just say no for 2 monthes, so that is my goal till I write to you again. Hopefully not as long as I went last time. See you all soon.

Day 1

I am back on the path to losing weight. Last year I started counting points on weightwatchers and lost 25 pounds in about 4 months. It went by quick, and was actually pretty easy for me. I viewed it as a numbers game and not a diet. I could still eat whatever I wanted, but just had to count the points. I must say that I did very well at "the game".
Well, around the middle of November, right before thanksgiving, I decided to just maintain my weight and not count the points through the holidays. And I must say, that I did very well, and have stayed the same weight, plus or minus 3 pounds here and there, but always back at 185. But, after the holidays, I never could get back into counting the points.
Well now it is June and I want to lose the last 20 pounds. And thanks to my Aunt Shelli, I have signed up for the free calorie counting "myplate" at the website livestrong.com. I now have a new game of counting the calories instead of points. I am hoping that this works just as well as the points game did for the first 25 pounds.
Today I have entered my breakfast and lunch eatings as well as the snacks, into the site and I have 800 calories left for dinner. Will chime in more tomorrow.
